JP BRAND

What is 'JP BRAND'? I'm not sure myself. Maybe it is just a beginning point... an expression of my style and interests.

Perhaps my interest in design, construction, landscape and the great outdoors will make sense in the future. For now it maybe as simple as helping with the family bison ranch, shoveling snow for neighbors or building saddle stands for my sister. Down the road it might be drafting, landscaping or trekking around as a wildlife field biologist... then again, maybe something I haven't yet discovered?

Whatever that future looks like, I dream of a simple place to call home... a small log cabin, near a mountain stream or lake, with a dog sunning himself on the porch. Work and dreams.

Mama and Papa say, "Without dreams there is no reason to work, and without work there is no reason to dream."

GREAT OUTDOOR SPORTS

During the winter you will find me sweating it up goal tending practice on the 'Out Door Rink' which the Calgary Flames management team built for our community. Then, it's onto the Ponoka Rec Center indoor ice for an intense 'puck stopping' game.

When the ice melts, it's time to tune up my mountain bikes for a great season of dirt jump, slope style and downhill biking... DIRT and DANGER... then, DETERGENT and DRESSINGS! I remind Mama that it is no different than horse riding, except you don't have to feed the bike :-)

GREAT OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

Nothing can beat the chance to be in the Great Outdoors and experience some unknown adventure!

Mountain park backcountry hikes have become an annual event for Papa and I... our sweating bodies have been the feast of mosquitoes and black flies... and, we have woken to freezing rain and snow... But, that's what memories are made of, as well as the unforgettable sights, sounds and smells of the Great Canadian wilderness.

Fall should be more adventurous as I have just completed my Alberta Conservation Hunters Education training course. Now I can put my compound bow skills to use. It's not the hunt that draws me as much as another chance to be outdoors again.
